En kall nos
Ett par fuktiga, runda ögon
En varm blick
En tass som lyfts och ett huvud som läggs på sned
Öron som försöker uppfatta och förstå...
Din hund

Han bad inte att få komma till Dig
Han bara kom för att Du ville ha honom
Han kom till Dig för att ge Dig vänskap då andra sviker Dig,
sympati då andra är emot Dig, trofasthet då andra baktalar Dig
Han kom för att ge Dig kärlek då Du känner Dig utelämnad,
sällskap då Du är ensam

Han gör Dig på gott humör då Du är ledsen
Han tar emot Dig med glädjetjut då Du äntligen kommer hem

Han är någon som behöver Dig
någon att smeka, leka med och ha roligt tillsammans med
Han är beroende av Din omtanke och Din kärlek
Han protesterar inte då Du missförstår honom
Han är utlämnad till Dig på gott och ont

Han ger Dig sköna avkopplande promenader
Han ger Dig sällskap
Han ger Dig kärlek och glädje
Han vaktar och skyddar Dig
Han varnar om främmande kommer
Han överger Dig inte så länge han lever
Han ger Dig trygghet

Old dogs do not die

We have a secret, you and I,
That no one else shall know,

For who but I can see you lie,
Each night in fire glow

And who but I can reach my hand,
Before we go to bed,
And feel the living warmth of you,
And touch your silken head,

And only I walk woodland paths,
And see ahead of me,
Your small form racing the wind,
So young again and free...

And only I can see you swim
In every brook I pass...

And when I call, no one but I
can see the bending grass...

When God had made the earth and sky, the flowers and the trees.
He then made all the animals and all the birds and bees

And when this work vas finished, no one was quite the same.
He said: I´ll walk this earth of mine and give each one a name.

And so He travelled land and sea, and everywhere He went,
A little creature followed Him, until it´s strength was spent.

When all ware named upon the earth, and in the sky and sea.
The little creature said: Dear Lord, there´s not one name left for me!

The Father smiled and softly said: I´ve left you till the end;
I´ve turned my own name back to front, and called you "DOG" my friend.

Because you walked with me in Springtime, Puppy clumsy, running free,

As you grew, we grew together- You became a part of me.

Because you shared with me my sorrow, Not understanding, simply being there,

Often spurring me to laughter- My friend, you know how much I care.

Because the years have slowed your fleetness, Though your spirit is still strong,

I promise I will take more time, so that you can go along.

Because you do not fear the future, Living only in the now,

I draw strength from your example, Yet time keeps slipping by somehow.

Because the day will soon be coming, When I will no longer see,

You rise to greet me- but in memory, You will always walk with me.

They say memories are golden
well, maybe that is true
I never wanted memories
I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you
A million times I cried
If love alone could have saved you
You never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly
In death I love you still
In my heart you hold a place
No one could ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane
I`d walk the path to haven
and bring you back again.

Our family chain is broken
and nothing seems the same
but as GOD calls us one by one
the CHAIN will link again.
